The role

Barnfonden is seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning advisor (50% position) to support our programme and organisation-wide work. The MEL advisor will be experienced in designing and overseeing tools to capture evidence of Barnfonden’s work in Sweden and internationally. You will work with Barnfonden’s programme director, programme managers and climate trainer and developer to:
- design and monitor results frameworks for project and programme work
- commission and oversee delivery of quality baselines, midlines and endlines
- train local partner staff
- support deep-dive studies
- write and review ToRs for external consultants
- innovate and use ‘evidence capture’ and learning tools
- assist in the development of reports
Your role will also involve monitoring our organisation-wide work, ensuring we have the correct data to furnish high quality accountability reports. You will also extend your support to the wider programme and Barnfonden team, as required, in line with the values of our organisation.
Most of this work will be in English. As Swedish/English speaker is preferred.

- A letter motivating as to the experience you bring to this role and what your level of knowledge and experience is particularly related to working with climate/environment indicators
- An example of a completed, end-of-project results framework you have prepared (project name, organisation and donor can be blocked – we just want to see how you think)
You will have:
- At least three years experience working in international development on results frameworks
- Experience working on a range of MEL methodologies
- Experience in writing Terms of References and directing consultants to conduct baselines, midlines and endlines
- A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably to masters level
- Excellent spoken and written English
- An excellent track record of working as a team player
- High output! You will be busy and at certain times, may be required to work longer hours to meet deadline
- Strong alignment with Barnfonden’s values
As with all employees newly recruited to Barnfonden, there is a six month trial period. You will be required to travel in this role and must have a valid passport and clean police record.
