Position Summary

We are looking for a solution oriented Swiss Certified Safety Engineer to drive the implementation of the machinery safety roadmap at Pilot Plant within the Rapid Prototyping Department at Nestlé Research.

A Day in the Life of a Safety Engineer
- Ensure compliance of Pilot Plant equipment and work practices with local legislation, audit requirements and Nestlé S&H standards
- Lead the governance on the machinery safety and implement the safety roadmap strategy at Pilot Plant
- Support incident investigations, determine root causes and drive corrective actions
- Identify and lead implementation of technical modifications on equipment required to ensure user safety
- Enhance supervision of work permits and safety assessments on contractors and during non-routine
- activities at Pilot Plant
- Lead and document the safety training, communication and coaching at Pilot Plant
- Establish the framework for the technicians to identify their safety decision limits and/or to support their analysis
- Identify and leverage expertise and good practices from inside and outside Nestlé
- Interact with different stakeholders such as project team members, technical workshop, quality unit and equipment suppliers
What will make you successful
- Swiss Certified Safety Engineer, holder of a technical or scientific degree issued by a university/technical school
- Expertise in EU Machinery Directive (2006/42/EU), machinery safety risk assessments and implementation of corrective actions
- Good knowledge of EU Pressure equipment Directive (2014/68/EU)
- Nice to have knowledge on EU Atex Directive (2014/34/EU)
- Significant exposure and good technical understanding of equipment and production lines setup, their handling and automation
- Several years of experience in industrial food/pharma production or other technical area
- Persuasion and drive to implement safety regulatory compliance in a certified and dynamic research and test environment
- Ability to work in teams with the technicians, the workshop and the site safety specialists
- Organized, capable of handling multiple tasks/assignments and work independently
- At ease in French and English
- Good knowledge of MS-Office
