Job Description
The Operator/Sampler is responsible for sampling, sample collection and sample preparation of the various commodities.
- Sampling and collection of samples from the different sampling locations and sampling points in accordance with sampling schedules and within the specified turn-around-time. To correctly record received samples on the appropriate documentation. Preparation of samples as per the correct procedures/methods and in compliance with instructions from the direct superior. To ensure compliance with all the requirements of the inspection and preparation order. Keep direct superior informed regarding sampling and preparation progress and/or nonconformance. Submit all tally sheets after every job performed. Liaise with direct superior in ensuring efficient operations and optimum utilization of equipment. Assist in continuously upgrading the quality of service offered, in support of Customer Services Policy and minimize client complaints and claims. Assist the direct superior with any tasks other than described above, whenever required. To ensure the integrity of samples is always maintained. Ensure that all procedures are followed. Assist in the disposal of excess material (discards samples). Ensure equipment is maintained and register is updated accordingly. Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system. Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.
Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science Proficiency in English Basic calculation capability
