Overview
Our client is a family run, well established cattle station near Blackhall, Queensland. They run 1,000 head of cattle. They require ideally a working couple - a station hand and a cook/cleaner.
Job Description
Station Hand
Duties may involve working across all aspects of the cattle station, assisting with day-to-day stock and feed duties and operations including milling, feeding, mustering (on bikes), low stress cattle handling, storage of commodities, and ensuring that a safe, clean & healthy environment is sustained.
Cook/Cleaner
Duties will include cooking meals for a small number of staff/family on the farm, alongside housekeeping duties.
Candidates will ideally have:
- Experience constructing fences for the purpose of maintaining sheep/cattle or physical labouring experience (in any industry).
- Some experience working with cattle is highly desirable.
- An enthusiastic and positive attitude to work.
- Good communication skills.
- Be clean and well presented with polite manners.
- Experience operating tractors and front-end loaders is desirable.
- Good all round labouring skills and ability.
- Responsible attitude and ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised.
Requirements
Suitable candidates will be looking for longer term positions, as these are not short term casual roles.
